I love the new Camaro. In my 24 years of selling Chevrolets never have I seen a Chevrolet product create as much excitement and garner as much enthusiasm as the 5th generation Camaro has. To me, the 5th generation of the Camaro is the 1957 Bel Air of this century. The car just begs to be personalized, and soo many of our customers have done outstanding jobs making their Camaros their very own. Being a Chevy lover my whole life, having grown up around my Grandfathers Chevy dealership, I am just as excited about the new Camaro as all my customers. I too wanted to create a unique Camaro that would be 'mine'. One thing lead to another, idea's started flying, pictures were drawn, emails were sent, phone calls were made.....next thing you know I have a yellow Camaro sitting in Madison Heights MI being measured up, mudded up, taken apart and being put together again. Here it is, months later, finally done. I chose the retro theme, being a lover of the Camaro's heritage. Very careful attention was given in the designing to ensure the parts we developed were going to fit the existing lines of the 5th generation Camaro, keeping it visually in sync. And yes, those are functional headlight doors that do open and close as the headlights are turned on and off!
WeC stands for Walters Elkland Chevrolet. As this project was being developed I wanted the final product to be available through our Chevy dealership, here in Pennsylvania. This special edition series can be sold on Camaro coupes, convertibles, LT's, SS's and in any color a customer would want. A Camaro that is as neat for us to sell, as it would be for a customer to buy.
There are many styling upgrades to the WeC Camaro. They consist of a custom designed front fascia that has functional headlight covers reminiscent of the 1969 Camaro RS grille. The optional billet rallye wheels are modern adaptations of the classic Chevrolet slotted rally wheels that were offered in the late 1960's. And the rear of the Camaro has a custom designed rear spoiler.
What makes the WeC Camaro different? This is a 5th generation Camaro sold exclusively through Walters Elkland Chevrolet as a numbered edition. Most 'special' edition Camaro's currently offered in the market place are merely a jumbled collection of readily available bolt on aftermarket parts, that anyone can buy, that are put on a Camaro then tagged as 'special'. But the WeC Camaro is built with parts designed and produced for just this edition. HPP Heide Performance Products did the designing and creation of this Camaro. www.hppcars.com
